About the Artist

Fascinated with the intricacies of sight and sounds since early childhood, Olajawon Monroe, also known as Aeon Akira, has devoted his life to exploring the arts. He spent his youth learning the basics of art and music at the Jamaica Center for Arts & Learning in Queens, NY, and continued his studies at the renown Fiorello H. LaGuardia School for Music, Arts, & the Performing Arts as an Art Major.

Aeon has been honing his skills in photography since 2015, most often alternating between portrait, lifestyle, entertainment, and street photography. Growing up a New York City native, the indelicacy of the city itself, as well as its occupants, provided the palette and perspective that shaped his raw artistic style. Being a cinematographer, musician, graphic designer, and photographer, Aeon aims to explore as many mediums as he’s drawn to - continually aiming to find new ways to tell stories, and capture the magic in moments often missed.
